Hellooo!
Welcome to the very first blog post on Hive by Zen Studios! Whether you're a content creator, photographer, stylist, podcaster, filmmaker or just someone figuring it all out, we see you. This space? It’s for you.
Let’s talk about something that every creative person has battled with at some point: doubt. That tiny voice in your head whispering “Is this even good enough?” or “Will people vibe with this?”
Spoiler alert: YES. They will. Even if they don’t at first, you still have to trust your creativity.
What Does It Mean to “Trust Your Creativity”?
Trusting your creativity means showing up for your ideas even when they’re still a bit fuzzy. It means filming that video with your iPhone because you couldn’t book a camera yet (all the great ones have been there). It means recording your first podcast episode even if it’s just your voice and a fan humming in the background. Trusting your creativity is you choosing to start even when things aren’t perfect.
Lagos Is Loud but So Are You!
Let’s be real, being a creative in Lagos is a full-time job with overtime. NEPA is ghosting. Transport is transporting. Everyone is hustling. It’s easy to feel like your creativity is just noise in a city that’s always buzzing. But here’s the thing: your voice adds to the rhythm of the city. You’re not just part of the noise, you’re part of the story.
Hive by Zen Studios isn’t just a place to shoot content or record a fire podcast. It’s a community. A vibe. A home base for the ones who dare to create even when it’s hard. Think of Hive as your creative playground with limitless possibilities. And it’s not just us saying that. When cinematographer Stedi Eduvie walked into Sequoia Hall for the first time, he paused, looked around and said:
“This space makes me think of all the ways I could create here. Something about creativity and space.”
That’s exactly what Hive is about, unlocking that part of you that knows you can do more.
This blog will feature stories, tips, real convos and creative gems. We’ll spotlight creators using Hive, talk about struggles, wins, tech hacks, events and even what snacks are best for long shoot days (spoiler: it's chin chin 🫢).
We're not here to gatekeep. We're here to grow with you.
You don’t need everything figured out to start. You just need to believe that your ideas are worth creating.
Stay buzzing🐝

This is so beautifully written. Make the idea exist first, then you can make it better. ❤️
To think I've been battling with writer's block, this is so helpful. I just need to start, I can make it perfect later.
